George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver was born around 1864 in Diamond, Missouri. The exact month and date is still unknown due to him being born into slavery. A week after George's birth he was kidnapped along with his mother and sister by raiders from Arkansas. George and his family were sold in Kentucky and a couple decided to keep George and raise him by teaching him how to read and write. Later, George Carver decided to travel 10 miles to a school for black children. After attending many schools he received his diploma at Minneapolis High School.
